The US White House said that North Korea sold weapons to a Russian private mercenary group involved in the war in Ukraine to help Russia.

The White House condemned it as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions, saying it was concerned that North Korea would provide additional weapons in the future.

The organization that the White House announced that North Korea sold weapons to is the Wagner Group, a Russian private mercenary company.

They are also helping Russia by participating in the war in Ukraine, and the White House said North Korea delivered weapons such as infantry rockets and missiles to them last month.

The White House said the weapons would not change the situation in Ukraine, but condemned North Korea's sale of arms to Russian mercenary groups as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

[John Kirby/White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator: We are concerned that North Korea will deliver more military equipment.

The United States, along with our allies, will raise the issue before the UN Security Council.

We also condemn North Korea's actions.]

White House Coordinator John Kirby added, however, that the weapons North Korea provided to the Wagner Group were not supplied to the Russian government.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Blincoln, who is planning a visit to China early next year, said that he would discuss China's role in the North Korean issue at this meeting, saying that stopping North Korea's provocation would benefit China as well.

[Tony Blincoln/Secretary of State: I think it is beneficial for China to no longer see North Korea's provocations.

When we go to China next year, we will discuss what role China can play (to persuade North Korea).]

There is also a possibility that Minister Blincoln will visit Korea and Japan around next year's visit to China.
